June 21st to June 25th was meant to be Challenge two for the £1000 bikes, however only 5 made the start line - Stu and Ratana's Rocket had a pre arranged wedding to attend. For Lloyd to bring The Silver Dream machine meant he'd have to have taken on a small mortgage, and The Blue Bomber ran out of electricity when Pete tried to start her on day 1. However this meant that Pete had to take his large, fully serviced and cruise control fitted R 1250 GSA with him.. Both Paul and I, aboard our elderly Pan European's, starting plotting our confined run next year..

After a mere 200 miles The Rocket declined to start and solutions were offered, including Chris' "Its a flat tyre mate".. Problem solved when Gregg suggested a look at the fuse box, once we could find the fuse box....

As you'll recall, The Tornado made her presence felt during the previous challenge due to her desire to be centre of attention. Mr Dechamps is seen from afar asking her to play nice for the week...

The Baron however...

The Baron however...

Mention has been made on our blog of The Baron's hatred of hot weather. Here she is resting having played the fuel starvation game a few minutes previously - Still, its not like she's due on The Nurburgring later....

Pete, in an effort to win some brownie points back having failed to get The Blue Bomber to the start line tuned into the team mechanical guru.. Here he explains to Paul the use for a site glass...

Award Winner

An award for doing anything that deserves such a memento with the last person holding the said trophy keeping it all year has become tradition.

Mr Grover's navigational skills earned him this and he is now retained the trophy for the year.
